Akemi Kitchen & Bath Capability Reviews
"Here is my experience with Carlos Fernandez and his company Akemi Kitchen & Bath. Carlos was ripping up tile floors on main level of house and painting all walls white since floors were ripped up anyway. Tiles are crooked and you can feel the unevenness in the tiles with shoes on or off. Carlos repeatedly brought his daughter (perhaps 7 years old) to the house with no supervision (She either helped herself to food in my refrigerator or he helped himself and gave to her) she was allowed to run around my pool area with no supervision. A job site is no place for a child. The money I am paying you should be able to cover after school care or baby sitter. The other male worker with Carlos used my fridge to store his canned ginger ale, which he felt was fine to throw the can in my bushes.
The grout is uneven in color throughout the whole house. And when I asked Carlos about using a sealer that you mix in the grout so its a permanent sealer he told me that no need because its a grey grout. Well a spill will make it darker and was informed when I went to buy sealer that it should have been used during installation.
Carlos quoted a price, then tried to change. Make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing, what is included (he wanted to charge me for the extra floor mortar or something at the end) Nothing I could do now short of buying new tile and ripping up and starting over. I don't know how Carlos was able to buy all the positive reviews of him online, but beware of the pictures he uses, because my floor most certainly was not a picture he used.
If you look at his Facebook page there are 3,500 likes for Akemi and they were all done on one day. (Bought them?) there are also reviews on flcompanies.us but when you try to read the reviews, they simply do not exist. Then if you google "flcompanies.us scam " you will see that site is a new site, considered risky and in Lithuania."
