Boathouse Sushi Capability Reviews

"We've tried almost everything on the menu, and had several favorites every time. Finally we settled on the Viva Las Vegas roll and the Bullseye roll as the stand outs. The food is consistently excellent (we go at least once a week) and the service has been nothing short of delightful. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food is intoxicating and inventive. I recommend this to all my friends and family when they visit."

"We eat here as often as we can. We've tried most of the sushi places in Petaluma, Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park and still love this place. Partly it's the great food. And partly the nice ambience. It just suits us - not pretentious and kind of pan Asian. The food is not meant to be Japanese specifically because there is kind of a mix of flavors and dishes but we have never been disappointed.

Our service has always been excellent. I'd say we come here about monthly for the past two or more years and really enjoy it."

"I like the ambiance and the service. In fact, when I went in we had a really playful waitress that was actually pretty entertaining. I had the "dirty fries" and the "beef teriyaki." The dirty fries definitely had an interesting flavor. I would try these if you get the chance. The beef was pretty good, too...."

"Really awesome lunch specials. Your choice of rolls, with soup and salad. Get a drink or beer, it's about $15... for good sushi? that's a deal. This is one of my favorite lunch places because they're reasonably priced for good sushi.... of course i will eat there again! "

    —Miss W., Santa Rosa CA

"Mixed drinks are actually pretty awesome (Nice and Strong)"

    —Todd S., Rohnert Park CA

"The food is great. My favorite roll is the Crazy Horse. They also offer a nice deal with two rolls, soup, and a small salad. I hear they have a great happy hour but I have yet to check that out."

    —April R., San Francisco CA

"I thought this place was cute on the inside and we got good service. The lunch special was a great deal. I left very full. They also had a nice selection of beer on draft."

    —Laila P., El Verano CA

"I like this place a lot. I like it because they give you good portions and contemporary takes on sushi and Asian food without ruining it."

    —Courtney M., Rohnert Park CA

"I like this place. Great Atmosphere. Great Service. Great Drinks. Great Food. I'm a devout Dragon Roll lover and theirs was delicious. I also reccomend trying their "Crazy Monkey Roll" Wow. That Grilled Pineapple is just a nice compliment to the Spicy Tuna. Good Stuff."

"The BF and I popped in for a quick dinner a couple of weekends ago.

The Wet and Wild Roll is still my favorite. I let him pick the other rolls and they were so so the boathouse roll had a lot going on in it, but didn't really deliver, and we did the Mexican Roll - just for fun (it was good, but it wasn't like OMG, I have to have this again)

and then we shared a plater of sashimi. The Tako was surprisingly really good (the BF isn't usually a fan) the Sake, Maguro and Hamachi were great as well - there were slices of Saba on there as well, I am not personally a fan, but BF said they were tasty.

Justin wasn't there.. although I'm sure he's still adorable (shhh Don't tell my BF) It's still a fun little place to go."

"Nice decor, cool outside patio for when it warms up. Service was attentive and focused. I would have liked a warm hand washing towel like traditional japanese places do, but I survived.

The fish was fresh, and they had a few creative appetizers and drinks I don't usually see at a sushi place. Full Bar too, nice place."

    —Wendy A., Santa Rosa CA

"Last review I stated that I go here every 6 weeks or so. Lately, my boyfriend has been taking me here once a week, and I have really gotten to explore the menu. I love everything I try. The specials are always great, and the service, impeccable.

If I could reccomend 2 things to anyone going to Boathouse: Get a Lisa!Lisa! Roll, and ask to be seated in Justin's section! You will fully enjoy your meal."

    —Honest R., Rohnert Park CA

"I LOVE this place. And the reason I love this place is because it is like Comfort sushi for me. It's the sushi equivalent of a big bowl of chicken soup on a cold day. Macaroni and cheese and all that. So yeah, this isn't the most awesome crazy super high class sushi ever, but it's good and they give you a lot.

Get the lunch special, because it's the best deal and their menu is HUGE. Seriously, it's really really big with a lot of rolls and fun stuff.

I go here almost every week. Missy is the best server and very quick and great.

    It's like...sushi for the soul."

"I love boathouse! I went to SSU and used to come here a lot with my boyfriend and I now live in SF while my boyfriend is still in rohnert park so this is where we go when I come up to visit.
The staff is always fast and friendly! The food is fresh and reliable. I espescially love the jalepeno poppers! Most recently I tried the shooters with vodka and a clam at the bottom of the shot. It sounds disgusting but I thought it was delcious.
Boathouse is my number one pick in rohnert park. Also try the one in Santa Rosa. It is smaller on the inside but has a larger patio area on the outside."

    —Allison P., San Francisco CA

"I am a sushi junkie. As such there is no fooling me about what is and what is not excellent Japanese food. This place is the best I've found - and I've been everywhere from San Jose to Redding. Not only is the food superb, the sake (rice wine) selection is very respectful as well. The best possible waitress is Missy - she is a feisty, petite Angelina Jolie type, she knows the menu and can describe each item to mouth watering precision. Boathouse has a cool atmosphere with elegant decor and a flat screen television playing Aname on mute (with subtitles) and a small bar. Try it; it's worth the drive from just about anywhere in the Bay Area.

My five stars are for the screaming orgasm I have every time I'm there!

"I'm not some sushi snob that thinks the Japanese will like me better if I shun California rolls. I like white people sushi. It's got a lot of good options and they all taste really good. Good atmosphere, and the waitresses are usually hot."
